The RTD Realtime Trading Desktop is based on an exchange-independent client-server architecture. The RTD Communication Server forms the core of the system and acts as the interface to the RTD, RTD Tango and eRTD front-ends as well as to the API (Application Programming Interface). The RTD-API or RTD FIX-API can be connected to third party applications and be used for order routing purpose.  

The RTD Communication Server allows the integration of different exchanges on a single trading platform with a single front-end for trading on all markets. Due to its flexibility and object-oriented software design, the RTD architecture has proved itself as a high-performance and reliable platform for the extensive RTS product portfolio.  

The client-server architecture thus allows rapid integration of new markets — a considerable advantage in view of the dynamic developing exchange scenario.
