Engelbert Gemünden, Chairman of the Board.

Born in 1945, he has a history in IT which spans an entire career - covering all levels of management and reaching the upper levels in a major group of companies - in various industries, spending 14 years in banking. His experience ranges from the EDP to the client-server architecture of today with object-driven software development, shaping of employment law, cooperation with various suppliers (active budget planning), IT law issues, reliability and availability of EDP-systems, overseeing sectors with several departments, as well as projects of all sizes and stages of responsibility.

At the age of 47, he broke out on his own for the first time with the founding of a software company (product software), the RTS Group, and - within 10 years - has established a highly successful independent group of companies with branches across the globe in all the important financial centres of the world. In 1999, E. Gemünden was awarded Entrepreneur Finalist of the year.

As a pioneer in the electronic trading environment since 1989, Steffen Gemuenden has been on the forefront of building solutions for traders. He has been able to combine his IT background with market knowledge to design and implement cutting edge electonic trading software solutions.

With the vision that electronic trading would gain wide acceptance throughout the world, IT specialist Gemuenden began developing software for market makers and brokers when the predecessor to Eurex, The Deutsche Terminboerse, started its operation. As one of the originial founders of RTS in 1992, he has significant experience in the industry for almost 20 years.
