On November 10, RTS hosted its firstever algorithmic trading seminar in Spain. The event took place in Madrid at Mercado Español de Futuros Financieros (MEFF), the Spanish futures and options market. Entitled “The Alpha Generation Platform,” the seminar attracted more than 55 attendees, including brokers, traders and academics.
Manuel Andrade, Managing Director Sales at MEFF, commented about derivatives in Spain, as RTS talked about algorithmic trading in a derivatives context, discussing its evolution, the adaptability of algorithmic strategies to the derivatives world and showcasing how RTD Tango can help generate “Alpha.” Alpha represents the ability to achieve excess returns, given the risk taken. The discussion also included how traders can use RTD Tango to go from idea to production in just days, without being a programmer. A cocktail reception followed.
Christian Zahm, RTS Sales Director, said: “Spain is a new territory for us, and we were pleased to see such a positive reception to the event. We’re seeing a significant growing demand for algorithmic, low latency trading solutions coming from Spain, and we’re working closely with firms there to meet their needs and provide them with education and training.”
