Steffen Gemuenden is the CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board at RTS Realtime Systems Group. As a pioneer in the electronic trading environment since 1989, Steffen has been on the forefront of building solutions for traders, combining his IT background with market knowledge, and designing and implementing cutting-edge electronic trading software solutions. With the vision that electronic trading would gain wide acceptance throughout the world, Steffen began his career as an IT specialist, developing software for market makers and brokers when the predecessor to Eurex, the Deutsche Terminbörse, started operation. As one of the original founders of RTS in 1992, he has spent the last 20 years growing the business from a software company serving customers in Germany, to one of the world’s leading providers of multi-asset class trading and risk management solutions, with offices and data centers across the globe.


Mark van Vugt
             

Mark van Vugt
Global Head of Sales, Frankfurt

Mark van Vugt, responsible for RTS' global sales operation, was appointed to the firm’s Executive Board in January 2010. He joined RTS in 2001 to set up the company’s Amsterdam office and soon assumed responsibility for the rest of Continental Europe, including Germany. By 2009, he was leading the firm’s sales and support units for all of Europe, before his promotion to Head of Global Sales later in the year. Currently, Mark’s focus is on the European and Asia Pacific regions. He has been in the financial industry for more than 25 years, and held roles in front-office trading software, back-office systems and straight-through processing solutions. Prior to joining RTS, Van Vugt spent 14 years at Euronext, where he began his career in 1986 on the floor in Amsterdam and moved into sales and management roles after earning his MBA in 1993.

Alexander Kranz is Managing Director (Europe) for RTS. He has more than a decade of experience and is extremely knowledgeable about the firm’s solutions and services. Alex started with RTS in 2000 as a System Administrator. Moving up the ranks, he held positions as a Technical Manager, Product Manager, Head of Technical Product Management and Head of Product Services Europe before assuming his current role. Alex is largely responsible for RTS Solutions Design.


Andy Woodhouse
             

Andy Woodhouse
Managing Director, Asia, Singapore

Andy Woodhouse, RTS Managing Director, Asia Pacific, has an extensive background in client solutions in the Asia Pacific region. Starting as a broker and then an options trader, Andy has since become a leader in virtually all solutions and services that are deployed in financial services companies. Before joining RTS in 2011, his career covered all aspects of the financial ecosystem, from banker, broker and fund manager, to project manager, management consultant and technology vendor. His experience across such a diverse range of technology and applications makes him a leader in this space. He has held senior executive positions at some of the world’s largest technology and financial services back-office provider firms, including IBM, PeopleSoft, Oracle and SunGard, where he ran all services and consulting for the Asia Pacific region.


Markus Nebel

Global Head of IT Operations, Frankfurt

Markus Nebel is RTS’ Global Head of IT Operations. He joined RTS in 2007 as a system administrator with already 7 years of experience in professional IT services. Since then, Markus held several roles at RTS including Technical Product Manager and led the IT Ops team in his region as the Head of IT Operations, Europe. Markus now leads the team globally with his expert knowledge in latency criticality, connectivity and co-location hosting solutions tailored for RTS’ product suite.

Markus Schroers heads the Human Resources (HR) department at RTS. He has over 10 years of experience in HR roles across various global companies and industries. Markus, with his strong background in recruiting and HR development, uses his expertise for the continuous professional and personal development of RTS global staff across four continents.
