Quality Assurance Manager

Responsibilities

  • Learns functional and technical requirements for proprietary financial market connectivity applications and related products
  • Writes & executes test cases that validate the software functions correctly prior to external release
  • Identifies, documents, and updates software defects in an issue tracking system
  • Acts as 3rd level customer support by assisting in investigating, reproducing, and researching customer software issues
  • Provides estimates for testing tasks and projects
  • Participates in system reviews throughout development life cycle
  • Integrates knowledge from testers, developers & product managers into testing processes
  • Shares functional & technical knowledge with team members to continually improve team effectiveness
  • Recommends product improvements or corrections
  • Assists with defect management by identifying duplicate issues & ensuring assigned issues are being worked on
  • Other related responsibilities as may be required to support the software testing processes

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science or comparable experience or education
  • Three or more years of hands-on software quality engineering & testing experience, including defect tracking and results reporting
  • Ability to write test plans identifying the project’s testing activities and approach
  • Ability to write test cases covering the required functionality of the software applications
  • Knowledge of one or more commercial or open source test management and defect management tools
  • Ability to learn and use automated testing tools
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and software development life cycles
  • Proficiency in English

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Futures/Options trading environments
  • Familiarity with FIX Protocol
  • Familiarity with one or more automated testing tools
  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby & Bash.
  • Familiarity with MS-Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
  • Experience developing and running performance tests to measure latencies and throughput
